How do I enable two-step verification?

Go to Settings > Privacy and Security > Two-Step Verification. Set up a password and optionally add a recovery email to protect your account from unauthorized access.

What data does Telegram collect?

Telegram collects minimal data: your phone number, contacts who have Telegram, and basic usage statistics. We do not use your data for advertising and never share it with third parties.

What is the difference between groups and channels?

Groups are for conversations with up to 200,000 members where everyone can send messages. Channels are broadcast tools where only admins can post, perfect for announcements to unlimited subscribers.

How large can file transfers be?

You can send files up to 2 GB each. There is no limit on the number of files you can send, making Telegram perfect for sharing large media files.

Can I use Telegram on multiple devices?

Yes, Telegram syncs across all your devices. You can use it on phones, tablets, computers, and web browsers simultaneously. Your messages and media are stored in the cloud.

How do I create a poll?

In any chat, tap the attachment icon and select Poll. Enter your question and answer options. You can make polls anonymous, allow multiple answers, or set quiz mode with correct answers.

How many members can a group have?

Regular groups support up to 200,000 members. You can upgrade to a Supergroup for advanced admin tools and unlimited members.

What are admin rights?

Admins can manage members, delete messages, pin important updates, change group info, and set permissions. You can create multiple admins with custom permission levels.

How do I prevent spam in my group?

Use admin tools to enable slow mode, restrict new members from posting, set up anti-spam bots, and create custom filters to automatically delete unwanted content.

Can I schedule messages?

Yes, long-press the send button and select Schedule Message. Choose a date and time, perfect for announcements, reminders, or posting when your audience is most active.

How do I delete my account?

Go to Settings > Privacy and Security > Delete My Account. You can also set an auto-delete timer (1-12 months) if you become inactive.

Can I use Telegram without a phone number?

Currently, a phone number is required for account verification. However, you can hide your number from other users in Privacy Settings and use a username instead.

How do I change my username?

Go to Settings > Edit Profile > Username. Usernames are unique and allow people to find you without sharing your phone number.

What happens to my data if I delete Telegram?

When you delete your account, all your messages, groups, and contacts are permanently removed from our servers. This process is irreversible.
